The dark red fruits are initially subdued on the nose of this bottling, giving way to the crushed slate and rocky soil aspects on the nose. It is dry and earthy on the palate, where dried herbs, baked loam and crushed stone meet with hints of dark cherry, plum sauce, mint and peppery spices. This is a great wine for a grilled rib eye steak served with roasted potatoes or rosemary roasted chicken with soft polenta.
